Trephine Panduleni Kamati, an Accountant by profession was appointed as a Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Safety and Security in April 2017.
Born in Okankolo, Oshikoto Region, she left Namibia formerly known as South West Africa at the age of 17 in 1977 to join the liberation struggle in Angola. In 1986, while in exile, she served as a Logistic Administrator for the SWAPO office in Luanda, Angola. In 1987, she moved to Lusaka Zambia where she worked as an Accountant in the SWAPO Office until 1989.She returned to Namibia in 1989 to works as an Accountant in preparation for the democratic election.
In 1990, after independence, she joined the Ministry of Mines and Energy as an Assistant Accountant, through dedication and hard work she moved levels up until she became a Chief Accountant and Financial Advisor, the position she had till December 2003. In 2004, she joined the Namibian Police Force as a Deputy Commissioner Finance until 2005. She got promoted to Commissioner Head of Finance Directorate and Financial Advisor in 2006 for the Department of Namibian Police Force till March 2016. She holds a Master Degree in Business Administration.
